Siemens Energy opened a new factory in Berlin in 2023 primarily to manufacture revolutionary ‘Vacuum Interrupters” - The vacuum interrupters are the technological core of Siemens Energy Blue Portfolio, which comprises climate-neutral power transmission products in the high-voltage range and uses industrially purified air for insulation and vacuum as the switching medium instead of climate-damaging fluorinated gases (F-gas and Sulfur Hexafluoride SF6).
This factory is open to visitors and regularly conducts tours for schools and higher education/research purposes, as well as having hosted many high profile government representatives responsible for climate and energy.
Trison’s task was two fold:
-
To create one-off content for Siemens Energy factory launch event. This included a large corner LED and a stage LED
-
To create permanent content for the different tour areas, The Entrance, the Electropolishing Process, The Clean Room Process and an LED Factory Banner. This content must be interesting and educational, describe the processes that are happening and why they are important.
All hardware was installed by Trison, and content created in Trison UK studio.
CLEAN ROOM - LED (right) + Transparent OLED (left)
Used to demonstrate the clean room technologies (as not accessible to the public due to upkeep of sanitisation levels). This is where the vacuum interrupters are assembled.
Electropolishing - x4 LED
To demonstrate the electropolishing process. It’s vital to the manufacture of the vacuum interrupters that they are meet certain specifications for longevity and safety.
Factory Banner - Letterbox LED
This is used as a callout for Siemens Energy climate pledge, factory targets in relation to green credentials.
