A custom LED installation connecting digital content with physical products through real-time sensor interaction at On Running’s Zurich flagship store.
On Running needed a fully integrated interactive LED retail installation for its new flagship store on Limmatquai, Zurich. All components had to work reliably together from day one. The solution also had to fit within a tight on-site schedule, so the team ran a complete pre-configuration and testing phase before arriving on site.
TRISON developed a system of custom LED elements and sensor-based technology that connects digital content directly with physical products. The core components include a custom circular LED table with a reflective surface, a transparent LED ceiling screen of matching dimensions, a transparent LED back wall, and multiple LED ticker systems. Additionally, LiDAR and pick-up sensors enable real-time content response when customers engage with products on display.
Digital content that reacts in real time when customers pick up a product.

On Running’s flagship on Limmatquai sits at the centre of one of Zurich’s main commercial streets. The store brings together product display and digital technology across its full retail environment, with custom LED elements designed specifically for this location. TRISON managed the project end to end, from concept development through to final installation on site.
The installation centres on a custom circular LED table with a reflective surface, paired with a transparent LED ceiling screen of the same dimensions directly above. This vertical alignment creates a clear visual connection between the product display surface and the overhead digital layer. Additionally, a transparent LED back wall and double-sided LED ticker systems extend digital content across the full store. As a result, all elements work together as a unified system, delivering synchronised content across every surface.

Five custom LED elements engineered and pre-tested as a single unified system.
LiDAR sensors and product pick-up sensors run throughout the table installation. When a customer lifts a product, the system detects the action and immediately triggers relevant content across the LED surfaces — product information and brand messaging update in real time. Consequently, the display table becomes an active communication tool, connecting each physical product directly with the surrounding digital environment.
Given the complexity of the system and the tight on-site schedule, the team fully pre-configured and tested all components during a four-day setup phase before reaching the store. This approach allowed them to identify and resolve any integration issues in a controlled environment. As a result, the on-site installation in Zurich ran smoothly and finished within three days, keeping the store opening timeline on track.
