360° LED ring and curved LED column installed by TRISON at the SIXT rental counter, Munich Airport

SIXT Airports

Germany & Switzerland

LED integration at SIXT rental counters in two European airports: a 360° LED ring and a curved LED column in Munich, and a continuous LED wall along the counter area in Zurich.

The challenge

At an airport, the rental counter is often the first brand touchpoint after landing. However, the two SIXT counters are very different spaces: an open island in a busy terminal hall in Munich, and an enclosed room with one long wall behind the desks in Zurich. For this reason, each one needed its own display format.

The insight

Instead of rolling out one standard format, TRISON adapted the LED installation to the layout of each counter. In Munich, the open island needed screens that work from every side of the hall. In Zurich, on the other hand, the enclosed room needed a single surface along the wall behind the desks.

Munich: A 360° LED Ring Above the Counter

The Munich installation combines two curved LED surfaces. A suspended LED ring runs the full 360° around the counter above head height, so travellers can read it from anywhere in the terminal hall. At its centre, a curved LED column stands behind the service desks, which form a circle around it. The ring speaks to people passing through the hall, while the column speaks to customers at the desks. In the Munich area, TRISON also integrated the LED installation in the lobby of the SIXT headquarters in Pullach.

Zurich: A Continuous LED Wall Behind the Desks

In Zurich, the counter area is an enclosed room with one long wall behind the desks. A continuous LED wall covers that wall from end to end, above a low black plinth. The surface shows several zones side by side or one panoramic image. Because the free-standing desks sit directly in front of the wall, customers face the screen while staff serve them.
