Hertford Theatre partnered with TRISON to transform its refurbished venue into a digitally connected cultural hub, integrating self-service, dynamic content, and immersive displays.

The Challenge

BEAM Theatre set out to redefine its role as a modern cultural landmark by digitising the visitor experience from end to end. The goal was to integrate technology that simplifies ticketing, enhances communication, and connects the entire building—cinema, theatre, events and community spaces—through a unified digital ecosystem. The challenge was balancing innovation with heritage while creating a seamless visitor journey that feels intuitive, immersive and future-ready.

The Insight

TRISON UK mapped the complete visitor journey and deployed a connected digital ecosystem powered by TRISON Spaces. Self-service kiosks replaced the traditional box office, offering streamlined browsing, booking and payment. Dynamic HTML templates delivered real-time messaging, cinema listings and show posters. At the entrance, a large LED canvas equipped with Lidar sensors introduced interactive, playful audience engagement. Each element was designed to unify branding, simplify operations, and elevate the emotional experience of attending the theatre.

Self-service that enhances autonomy

TRISON designed bespoke self-service kiosks that enable visitors to browse upcoming events, purchase tickets and complete payments effortlessly. Integrated with third-party ticketing systems and secure data flows, the kiosks reduce reliance on staffed box offices while improving flow and accessibility. Their intuitive interface and consistent branding support the theatre’s shift toward a digital-first experience.

The entrance features a striking large-format LED wall capable of displaying promotional content, animated branding and interactive sequences. Using Lidar sensors, the screen responds to visitor movement—creating moments of surprise and delight and transforming the arrival experience into a memorable digital encounter aligned with the theatre’s renewed identity.
