A retail LED cube transforms Thalia’s Cologne store into a live content environment. The installation combines transparent LED technology, a social media production space and a dedicated podcast studio.
Thalia needed a dedicated space within its Cologne store for social media content and podcast production. The goal was to create a content-driven environment that strengthened in-store customer engagement. Furthermore, the solution needed to extend the brand’s digital presence beyond its existing online channels.
TRISON Germany designed a multi-functional content creation hub built around a transparent LED cube. The installation integrates a social media production area and a dedicated podcast studio within the retail space. Consequently, Thalia can produce and broadcast content directly from the store floor, extending its digital reach through the physical environment.
A retail environment engineered for live content production and digital storytelling.

The central structure of the installation is a transparent LED wall that keeps the bookstore interior visible through the display surface. This transparency integrates digital content naturally into the retail environment without disrupting the store’s spatial character. The panel defines the boundaries of the interactive space without physically enclosing it, making the installation accessible from multiple angles. Additionally, high-brightness content plays across the surface while customers retain full visual contact with the store.
Inside the cube, a dedicated podcast area provides Thalia with a fully operational production space on the retail floor. The area includes professional camera and audio equipment alongside a vertical display screen for supporting live broadcasts. As a result, Thalia can host interviews, book presentations and live shopping events directly from the store. The configuration supports regular use within Thalia’s retail and editorial programme throughout the year.

From recording to broadcast, the entire content cycle happens within the retail space.

The installation communicates beyond the store’s interior. A vertical LED screen in the window display presents Thalia’s live content programme to passersby, while the ON AIR signage above the entrance signals active recording sessions in progress. Additionally, promotional and editorial content — subscription offers, event announcements, seasonal campaigns — can be programmed and updated centrally across the space. The result is a content ecosystem that connects in-store production directly with public-facing communication.
