A permanent event space automation system installed at Motorenfabrik Darmstadt — a historic industrial venue transformed into a fully controllable environment.
Motorenfabrik Darmstadt hosts a wide range of event formats across several spaces simultaneously. Without a modern building control infrastructure, each setup required extensive manual coordination from technical staff. The venue needed all building functions under centralised management — without adding operational complexity.
TRISON Germany designed a centralised automation architecture connecting lighting, climate, ventilation, sensors and access control under a single system. All building functions communicate and respond through one interface, regardless of the event running at any given moment.
Every technical function across the venue — from stage lighting to access management — operated through one integrated system.
The installation connects all building systems through a centralised control server. Each area of the venue operates as an independent zone, configurable without affecting the rest of the building. Furthermore, the system integrates additional functions without structural changes to the existing infrastructure, making it ready for future expansion.


The dashboard gives operators immediate access to all building functions across tablets, smartphones and wall-mounted panels. The interface organises controls by category — lighting, audio, climate, ventilation, sensors and access. Additionally, pre-set event scenarios allow multiple systems to be adjusted simultaneously with a single action, reducing setup time between events.

TRISON installed programmable fixtures across the main hall, staircases and entrance areas — each zone independently controllable from the central interface. The system supports a wide range of colour temperatures and intensity levels. As a result, the same space can shift between radically different event atmospheres. The result is a fully integrated event space automation system that responds to the demands of any production format.
