Gillingham UK

Gillingham FC partnered with TRISON UK to transform Priestfield Stadium with stadium LED displays across the full pitch perimeter and 113 linear metres of mid-tier LED — opening new revenue streams and sharpening the match-day experience.

The challenge

When new ownership took over Gillingham Football Club, the stadium’s commercial infrastructure did not reflect the club’s ambitions. The existing setup offered limited advertising inventory and no dynamic content capability. Consequently, sponsorship revenue and fan engagement remained well below their potential.

The insight

TRISON UK responded with a full LED transformation of Priestfield Stadium. The solution combined a 360-degree pitchside system covering all four sides of the pitch with a mid-tier LED installation on the Medway Stand — both managed through a single content platform capable of delivering real-time data and scheduled sponsor campaigns.

Revenue Impact

The club’s new commercial model is structured to recover the full investment within 14 months of going live.

360-Degree Stadium LED Displays Around the Pitch

The pitchside LED system runs continuously around all four sides of Priestfield Stadium, creating an uninterrupted advertising surface visible from every seat in the ground. Additionally, static poster frames on the rear of the LED structure extend the commercial offering — sponsors can therefore choose between digital slots, static placements, or a combination of both. Planning involved the club’s operations team, safety officer, architect, and groundskeeper to address sightlines, access routes, and power requirements.

Delivered on Time

From contract to match-day operation — the full installation was completed within eight weeks.

113 Metres of LED on the Medway Stand

A separate mid-tier LED installation runs 113 linear metres along the Medway Stand, operating as an independent advertising tier above the pitchside system. TRISON UK integrated both surfaces into a unified content platform — enabling the club to schedule campaigns, display live scores, and switch between content formats in real time. Consequently, the club’s team manages the full stadium LED display network on match days without requiring additional technical resource.

A Stadium Still Evolving

The LED rollout marks the first phase of a broader digital transformation at Priestfield. Furthermore, the club has committed to expanding its stadium technology infrastructure over the next 12 to 18 months. As a result, upcoming upgrades aim to deepen the match-day experience and support continued commercial growth — an approach that shaped the development of TRISON’s Club First model for sports venues.
